Resilient cities

Ivy Association participated together with UN Habitat, ECLAC, FLACSO, the Global Network of Resilient Cities, AVINA in the activity organized by Mercociudades to reflect on the new challenges and opportunities to address sustainable and resilient development in the post pandemic stage.

A set of simultaneous workshops, in which Ivy members collaborated with the coordination, allowed to learn and exchange results on different local, regional and global strategies to address the acute impacts and chronic stresses that affect cities from the perspective of urban resilience.

The meetings, which were attended by representatives of local governments of Mercosur, provided an opportunity to exchange ideas on different ways of using the resilience approach to address problems of adaptation to climate change, natural disasters and investment in infrastructure services for the most vulnerable populations.
