Webinar: National Stories for Energy Transitions
This Wednesday, April 27 between 12:00 and 13:30 (Montevideo time), the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) and the Ivy Association propose a regional exchange to discuss the keys to advance the energy transition in the region.
During 2020 and 2021, Ivy conducted an extensive and detailed analysis that identified the barriers to the introduction of renewable energy in Latin America, as well as a set of actions to try to overcome them.
This study, based on an agreement with OLADE and the Inter-American Development Bank, identified as one of the main barriers the absence of a “national narrative” that would make visible the advantages of the transition (energy, economic, climate, social, geopolitical, labor, among others), involving and committing all public and private actors and serving as a basis for generating a major political and social agreement that would sustain the transition over time.
Within this framework, next Wednesday, April 27, a Webinar will be held in which successful cases in our region in the construction of national narratives will be presented, the difficulties that had to be addressed and how they were resolved will be analyzed, as well as the lessons learned from these experiences. The event will also be attended by ministerial authorities from countries in the region, who will make brief comments and reflections on the information received.
The activity is free of charge and will be broadcasted on YouTube
